Principles of Engineering

  • This course is designed to provide students with classroom and lab experience in current engineering technologies and the physics behind them. Content involves the engineering design process along with applying math and science to hands-on project based learning projects. Concepts of basic electrical systems, strength of structures and materials, mechanical systems and other engineering technologies are introduced.  Competencies include basic shop safety, use of hand tools and power tools, reading schematics, and safe use of industrial and lab equipment.

Engineering Technology

  • This course promotes interdisciplinary learning with emphasis on high interest projects that provide hands-on opportunities for students to master the applied engineering design process. Concepts of electrical/digital circuit design and analysis, aerodynamics, robotics, automation, composite materials, programming, computer data analysis and the manufacturing process are covered in depth.  Design projects include analyzing the design process, problem solving, budgeting, project management skills, identifying funding sources, scheduling and presentation skills.

Applied Engineering

  • This course promotes interdisciplinary learning with emphasis on high interest projects that provide hands-on opportunities for students to master the applied engineering design process.  Concepts of electrical/digital circuit design and analysis, aerodynamics, robotics, automation, composite materials, programming, computer data analysis and the manufacturing process are covered in depth.  Design projects include analyzing the design process, problem solving, budgeting, project management skills, identifying funding sources, scheduling and presentation skills. Students will have the opportunity to participate in work based learning/Community Classroom.
