There has never been a better time to get involved in aviation! The pilot shortage you may have heard about is real. Boeing, a worldwide leader in aerospace, released a study projecting that 804,000 new civil aviation pilots, 769,000 new maintenance technicians, and 914,000 new cabin crew will be needed to fly and maintain the world fleet over the next 20 years.
But airlines aren't the only way to fly! Business aviation, charter operations, flight instruction, and recreational flying are other great ways to spread your wings.
Not interested in flying or maintaining airplanes? Consider flying drones (remote pilots). The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association noted that the FAA expects remote pilots to outnumber instrument-rated pilots (including private, commercial, and airline transport pilot certificate holders) by 2022 or 2023.
At Los Altos High School, our aviation program is designed to prepare you for these exciting opportunities. Whether you dream of piloting a commercial jet, maintaining cutting-edge aircraft, or exploring the skies with a drone, our program provides the foundation you need to succeed in the dynamic field of aviation.
